Environmentally Responsible

I recently purchased a boost mobile reboost card and noticed that it wasn't even necessary to have the card itself, as the information I needed to apply the funds to my boost account was located on the receipt itself. My son and I thought that it would be much more environmentally responsible to have a card that stays at the store, the customer can pick up the card (which will always stay at the store) take it to the register and purchase whatever amount needed, and only leave the store with their receipt, which contains all the information needed to apply the funds to their boost account. The card itself is waistful as it serves no purpose other than a barcode to ring it up.
