Simulcast Metropolitan Opera Performances

Comcast Other Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

Several national movie theater chains have teamed with the Met Opera in NYC to carry HD simulcasts of Saturday matinee performances. Comcast should investigate doing the same as PPV events. This could be done with matinees or evening performances. As a teaser, Comcast could provide a free simulcast, during prime time, to spread the news and get people interested.

This would also benefit Comcast's image as a patron of the arts. There might also be tax incentives by supporting the arts.

These simulcasts are very well-produced and draw large crowds to the theaters. Many patrons are older would likely prefer to view from home if they could.
