Texting through text is history now, audio search is trending. But I personally believe that the accuracy which can be obtained via searching through images is more than audio as there are a lot of different languages and to each person its own pronunciation.
An app which can use the phone's camera to click pictures in a fixed format say less than 100 bytes and jpg format, and apply OCR to it and through the search API of google directly show results to the user.
