Fumes And Vapor Detector And Collecctor

Honeywell New Product Idea

Submitted 1 year ago

The research focuses on developing an accurate and feasible smoke and fume
collector using Filter mechanism and MQ smoke sensors. We planned to develop a smallscale
device using Arduino to collect and detect different types of smoke and fumes. The device
uses vacuum to collect the smoke and the particulate matter, that can be separated using
filterate material. The device can also collect the sample and composition of smoke in crime
scenarios.
At first, the MQ sensors detect the smoke and the material of smoke will be shown
in a 7 segment LCD display. Then if the MQ2 sensor detects a smoke, it starts the vacuum
pump to undergo suction and the smoke's been sent to pass through a series of filterate
material and the particulate material will be separated. The particulate material can be taken
as sample/evidence of smoke and origin of smoke might be detected.
With the development of the device, it enables a user to detect, collect, to know the
material of smoke (i.e. carbon monoxide),to get samples of particulate matter at the same
time. Further features might be added later with convenience of the user.
