Driver Scheduled Discount Long Distance Trips

I currently live out near Palm Springs, but travel into Los Angeles quite frequently. It would be nice if drivers who are already making a long distance trip could post the day and time they'll be going and offer a discounted ride to nearby passengers who may be interested. Sort of like scheduled pickups, but in reverse. Drop off could be offered for anywhere within 5 miles or so of the drivers final destination or something like that. It would be a win win. Drivers get some gas money for a trip they were already going to make and the passenger gets a discounted long distance ride for being flexible with their schedule.
