The Lawnmower Fender

Dear Sir/Madam:

My name is Rob Sitarz from Oakbank, Manitoba, Canada. I wanted to contact you about a product I have designed. It is an attachment for walk-behind lawnmowers-either self-propelled or push-type. It is a simple attachment that when installed, will serve a number of functions.

• It will allow the user to guide the lawnmower very close to any shrubs, plants, hedges etc. without damaging them or any low-lying branches, and allow for the grass to be cut very close to them without having to use a trimmer
• It will "pick up/lift" anything that may be hidden and lying in the grass ahead of the lawnmower (e.g. electric cords, kid's toys like skipping ropes, garden hoses etc.) so as not to ride under the mower and be cut by the blade; this is especially important if the electric cord is "live"
• It will allow for downspouts from the side of a house to be lifted and cut under so that the user does not have to manually lift them up and then place them down again later

This patent pending attachment will not interfere in any way with the normal functioning of the lawnmower, and would be a very inexpensive addition---installed quite easily by the user. I have used this on my lawnmowers for some time now, and it has saved countless plants, gardens and shrubs from having their stems and branches run over, as well as finding cords or hoses in the grass that I could not see.
