Possible Pikmin 4 Plot Point?

So in all of the Pikmin games, the ship has trouble making an adequate landing right? Well, what if there was one part in the game, say after you get a certain item to discover a new area, where the ship does the opposite, it won't take off. So now it's a task of fending off the ferocious nocturnal beasts while you fix the ship in an attempt to get it running once more. There could also be a new ability or type of Pikmin that instead of destroying walls, builds them.
