Corola and Corona buyers are seeking small SUVs that they can afford with good gas consumption. Currently the Rav4 is a little above them in the weaker economies.

I suggest to Toyota that the Rav4 brand has pushed itself up the market, based on quality and style, and has the strength to split into two markets, with names changes as the current name sounds old:
1. For the higher price market link it to the CAMRY, and name it the CAMRIO. This would continue to do well is stronger economies.
2. Create a lower price market (corollar and Corona buyers), and name it the RAVINA. This would do well in the lower economies.
Each would have a distinctive feature, but maintain the core Rav4, styling, features and reputation.
