Smart Keys - Always Find Them And More

Toyota New Product Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

Place a bluetooth chip in the key (or the door remote control) which connects to your smart phone and allows you to locate where you left your keys when you have locked your car away.
Could be good for businesses with a fleet of cars or trucks to keep track of keys.
the battery in the key or remote control can recharge when you drive, especially if there is a position in the car to plug it in.

Other extras:
keep track when you loan your car to a friend or your teenager by linking keys to the loaner's smart phone [which can then relay back to your phone, including using the phone's GPS]

The Smart key could also have preferences for each driver [through a smart phone or or its own] such as seat and mirror positions [these could start adjusting as you approach the car through a near-field connection so that you don't have to slide the seat back after a shorter driver has used your car.
