When Trying To Use The City Provided Ride Service, A
Reservation Of At Least 24 Hour In Advance Is Required.

The Seniors Generally Do Not Have A Smart Phones But Can
Have A Flip Phone At A Cost Of $20 And $8 A Month.

The Senior Center Which Is Has Personnel In Place With
Computers Etc And Is Federally Could Act As A Clearing
House Or Call Center For South Pasadena Seniors In
Arranging A Ride With Uber And Or Lyft.

The Senior Would Register And Set Up An Account With
Uber Or Lift Through The Senior Center, Which Involves
A Credit Card An Address And Phone Number.

No Cash Is Involved Billing Is Done Via Credit Card.

When A Ride Is Needed A Call Could Be Made To The Senior
Center. The Ride Arrives In Less Than 20 Minutes Verses A 24
Hour Reservation Through The Current Senior Ride
Service.

The Senior Center Might Be Able To Get Additional Funding
From The Federal Government Inasmuch As The Center Is
Providing Additional Services To Seniors. And Uber And
Lyft In All Likelihood Would Support Such A Request And
May Even Be Willing To Provide Some Funding.

I Am Aware Of One Lady Who Got Rid Of Her Car. Now No
More Insurance, Car Maintenance , Gas And Oil Not To
Mention The Cost Of The Car Itself.
Another Lady Used Uber To Go The Emergency Room. If
She Had Dialed 911 The Ride Would Have Cost Hundreds Of
Dollars, But Only Cost About $20.
