Simple Way To Reducing The Network Traffic In WhatsApp Exchange

WhatsApp Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

One of the main use of WhatsApp is Forwarding besides sharing original ideas and information.

But, the unwanted side effect of Forwarding is the redundancy of forwards from multiple sources. It should be certainly increasing the load on the network traffic significantly.

We can block duplicate forwards directed towards a single user at the backend it will improve the user experience. Sometimes, the user might want to "weigh" the importance of a message by looking at how many times the same message is being forwarded. To address this "the message can be annotated" with a relative measure of the number of times a message is being forwarded in its original form, instead of being forwarded redundantly.

I believe this will improve user experience and will effectively reduce network traffic with reference to WhatsApp use.
