Rotary Vane Internal Combustion Engine, RV8/16

Honda Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 194 days ago

We offer a highly efficient (70% efficiency) Rotary Vane Internal Combustion Engine, RV8/16, patent US 11, 428, 156 B2, which is powerful, high-speed, not subject to overheating, durable, reliable, with low vibration and noise levels, and small dimensions, easy to manufacture and unpretentious to maintain. It has no crank, reciprocating mechanisms, or cams.
It does not need mechanisms to synchronize the rotation of the vanes. A unique and effective solution for heat management. The rotor assembly is located inside a cooling bath (forced cooling system). This engine uses far fewer parts, so it is much cheaper. The RV8 engine is equivalent to an eight-piston engine if two vanes are used, or the RV16, a sixteen-piston engine if four vanes are used. Thus, we have at the same time the most compact and most powerful engine, which does not emit harmful substances into the environment and does not depend on petroleum products as it operates effectively on clean fuel, hydrogen, and natural gas.
This engine solves the existing problems:
1. The internal combustion engines (ICE) built over 150 years ago that have low efficiency - maximum 30%, very dirty exhaust.
2. The emerging electric vehicles (EV) and growing demand for them brought new problem:
- lack of technologies for recycling used batteries, that is, hundreds of thousands of tons of toxic
emissions pollute the soil and poison their own population.
3. Hydrogen Fuel Cells (HFCs) cars have a low theoretical and practical efficiency, which is lower than that of ICE. HFCs require many ancillary systems to provide the necessary support for essential processes, making them far more complex and prone to failure than EV. High cost, the lack of infrastructure related to the maintenance of HFC vehicles make them unprofitable and unpopular.
4. Need to improve the Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs). Hybrid electric vehicles with ICE, by logically, can simpler, more reliable operating on the hydrogen fuel, with safer placement of hydrogen in easily replaceable sets of small fuel tanks, canisters, or syphons.
However, if ICE has a low efficiency and the electric motor has the efficiency at least 96%, that feasible to use together with electric motor.

RVICE are approximately 50% more efficient than ICE. RVICE has a much higher power-to-weight ratio, and spins faster (up to 13,000 rpm).

The highly efficient, inexpensive, and versatile PB8/16 engine can be used in "Honda two motors" of facilitating the creation of highly efficient for Hybrid electric Vehicles, in the Defense Industry ground military equipment, aircraft, combat and kamikaze drones, especially kamikaze drones with self-explosive hydrogen fuel tanks.
Engine is focus to carbon neutrality, easy manufacturing and mobility on Land, Air, and Sea areas.
