Smartphone Message For Driver To Help Find Rider

Uber Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 6 years ago

Use first 2 letters of car license plate to display a sign on smartphone to help the driver identify the rider.

I have used Uber a lot just recently and every time the driver has trouble finding me. Especially at the airport where everyone is requesting UBER's side by side.
Have the rider hold up this message on their phone so the driver does not "drive past" or "have to call the rider"
Allow for horizontal or vertical display.
Chances of duplicates at the same pickup spot are low, so two BIG LETTERS, White on Black should be enough
Driver will learn quickly to recognize his/her own license plate letters.
Driver can then pull up to rider and if necessary, roll down window, flash lights, toot horn, to get rider's attention. Much easier, faster!
No additional coding required though additional signals to the the driver when he/she has gotten very close to the rider would be icing on the cake.

It's exactly like a chauffeur holding up a sign saying "MALONE" at the airport but with role reversal.

Bonus suggestion: Rider can now identify driver by car shape, color, license plate provided by Uber already.
These displays are kinda small. Tapping on them should make them big. Would help a bit.
